Job summary

Southwest Healthcare Services is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in managing clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring high-quality resident care with regulatory compliance.

The ADON will oversee staff scheduling, clinical leadership, staff education, patient care coordination, and infection control. This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and alignment with the facility’s mission and standards.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in a nursing role preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of medical practices and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Clinical leadership: oversee daily clinical operations and rounds to monitor patient care.
• Staff management: hire, train, schedule, and discipline nursing staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Staff development: assess competencies and coordinate annual clinical skills testing.
• Patient care coordination: contribute to care plans and address concerns from patients and families.
• Administrative support: assist with policy implementation, budgeting, and nursing records.
• Infection control: lead the infection prevention program.
• Support safety and quality culture and serve as a clinical resource.
• Assist with inspections or investigations by regulatory or accrediting agencies.
