Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in directing licensed and non-licensed staff delivering 24/7 care in a long-term care facility in Texas. The ADON will plan, supervise, recruit, train and evaluate staff, and may provide direct resident care as needed.

Responsibilities include daily rounds, regulatory compliance, safety, resident rights, staff development, and reporting to the DON. Strong leadership and nursing licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff.
• Assist in development and implementation of nursing services, policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff; assist with appraisals and disciplinary actions.
• Back-up for the DON, RN and LVN staff; provide resident care as needed.
• Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds and monitor resident conditions.
• Ensure resident safety and uphold resident rights; liaise with residents, families and physicians.
• Attend staff meetings or conduct meetings when DON unavailable; provide reports to DON.
• Assist in designing, implementing and evaluating nursing systems to ensure consistent care.
• Conduct ongoing in-services for nursing staff and maintain confidentiality.
