Job summary

Maplewood Rehab in Amesbury, MA is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations, staffing, and care delivery while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

The ADON will supervise nursing staff, participate in hiring and disciplinary actions, participate in care planning, QAPI initiatives, infection control, and ensure quality resident care and safety.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, long-term care regulations, and infection control standards.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing daily nursing operations, staffing, and care delivery in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, participate in hiring and disciplinary actions, and ensure proper training and competencies.
• Monitor staff practices, implement policies and procedures, and promote quality care and resident satisfaction.
• Participate in care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and resident rounds to ensure appropriate clinical oversight.
• Lead or support quality improvement initiatives (QAPI), infection control programs, and survey readiness efforts.
• Assist with scheduling to meet resident needs and manage staffing resources effectively.
• Serve as acting DON in their absence and respond to resident/family concerns, incidents, or regulatory issues as needed.
