Job summary

The Palace Care Center in Maple Shade Township, New Jersey seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead a nursing unit and support the Director of Nursing with managerial and clinical activities.

The ADON directs services coordination, mentors staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters a resident-centered, team-based approach across all shifts.

This role emphasizes quality improvement, documentation accuracy, and proactive problem solving to maintain high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited hospital or school of professional nursing (diploma or baccalaureate).
• Currently registered in New Jersey.
• Experience supervising and teaching in a behavioral health setting.
• Knowledge of DOH and Federal regulations as they relate to LTC.
• Advanced knowledge of psychotropic medication management.

Responsibilities

• Takes lead over units and conducts staff meetings regularly to keep nursing staff informed.
• Completes investigations in a timely manner and reports to the DON and the IDCP Team when appropriate.
• Works as a team member with all other departments to provide optimum level of care.
• Monitors nursing staff documentation for Restorative Program, Psychotropic Summaries, and Residents’ Weight.
• Coordinate and integrate nursing service with other services to provide a continuum of care for residents.
• Maintain cordial relationships with residents and families regarding care needs.
• Conducts chart audits regularly and monitors nursing staff compliance with MDS 3.0 documentation.
• Oversees Nursing staff to ensure residents’ needs are met and conducts daily quality rounds.
• Organizes and prioritizes daily work and meets deadlines for assigned projects.
• Attends all meetings related to residents care and required trainings.
• Monitors staff documentation for new admissions and develop care plans.
