Job summary

Maplewood-Rehab-and-Nursing in Amesbury, MA is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to help lead clinical operations, staffing, and care delivery with a focus on regulatory compliance and resident safety.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid nursing background, active RN license, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to quality improvement, staff development, and patient-centered care during daily rounds and inspections.

Qualifications

• Nursing Degree from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, long-term care regulations, and infection control standards.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations, staffing, and care delivery in compliance with regulations.
• Supervise and evaluate staff, participate in hiring and disciplinary actions, and ensure training.
• Monitor practices, implement policies, promote quality care and resident satisfaction.
• Participate in care planning, collaboration, and resident rounds for clinical oversight.
• Lead or support quality improvement initiatives (QAPI), infection control programs, and survey readiness efforts.
• Assist with scheduling to meet resident needs and manage staffing resources effectively.
• Serve as acting DON in their absence and respond to resident/family concerns, incidents, or regulatory issues as needed.
