Job summary

Montgomery College seeks 3 candidates for full-time Nursing Lab & Clinical Associates in the Nursing program: 2 at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus and 1 at the East Campus Education Center. The work schedule for Takoma Park/Silver Spring is typically 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon-Fri, with intermittent Saturdays as needed.

Not eligible for telework. The East Campus Education Center schedule is typically 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon-Fri, with intermittent Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• Three years of nursing experience in acute care.
• Ability to provide safe, competent patient care for acutely ill patients.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and current medication delivery methods.
• Experience with common nursing skills and equipment (IV pumps, defibrillators, suctioning).

Responsibilities

• Student Instruction & Support: supervise students practicing nursing skills and patient care.
• Host skill review workshops and lab referrals.
• Evaluate student performance using standardized criteria and provide feedback.
• Identify learning gaps and collaborate with Lab Manager and course coordinator.
• Serve as a role model and resource for students in the nursing program.
• Mentor students on special projects and activities.
• Learning Environment Development: promote competence in nursing skills and inclusive learning environments.
• Lab Operations & Maintenance: set up, maintain and stock on-campus labs and equipment.
