Southbridge Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, part of Athena Health Care Systems, is seeking a dynamic Cook for full-time and per diem openings in Southbridge, MA. The role involves preparing meals to support residents' nutrition and well-being, with emphasis on quality and service.

The candidate should have ability to cook large quantities, follow recipes, read and communicate in English, and supervise staff while maintaining sanitation and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• 1 year dietary experience in hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred, but training may be provided.
• Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to lead and supervise staff.
• Knowledge of dining service procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Weekly pay at $17.50. Shift is 12:30p-8:30p. The Southbridge Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cook to join our culinary team! As a Cook at our center, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality food for our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met, and providing exceptional customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare food according to standardized recipes and menu plans, adhering to therapeutic diets ordered by physicians
• Ensure proper serving temperatures, visual appeal of food, and portion control
• Monitor daily nourishments, follow sanitation and storage policies, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
• Adhere to dining service procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines
• Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel

Requirements:

• 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred, but not necessary; we can train the right candidate!
