Job summary

Hillcrest Commons Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking a Cook to join its post-acute care team. You will prepare meals, adhere to planned menus, and ensure safe food handling within a supportive, resident-focused environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with departments to meet resident needs, maintaining sanitation standards, and contributing to a respectful work culture. Various shifts available with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively and communicate written and verbally.
• Serve Safe Certification is required.
• Serve Safe and Allergen Training are preferred.

• Check food storage areas daily to ensure proper food rotation.
• Supervise and evaluate production and kitchen staff to ensure efficiency.

• Demonstrate courteous and responsible attitude toward staff and residents.

As a Cook you will:

• Prepares and portions various food items with the highest of quality.
• Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Check food storage areas on a daily basis to ensure proper food rotation.
• Orient, motivate, supervise and evaluate employees of production and kitchen component according to established standards and procedures to assure an efficient, effective department.
• Maintains a rapport with other departments to assure that food service can be maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Prepares food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates a courteous and responsible attitude toward staff, resident and visit.
• Must be able to work effectively with other staff members to produce a cohesive supportive work environment providing for smooth functioning of the community.
• Demonstrate the ability to work with little supervision.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively and communicate written and verbally.

Pay rate based on Years of Experience:

$20-$24 per hour

Weekend and evening differential available

Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem positions available
