Job summary

The University of Akron's School of Nursing seeks an Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach in-person and online nursing courses for a full-time 9-month non-tenure track appointment.

Responsibilities include delivering assigned courses with clear outcomes, maintaining records, providing timely feedback, and supporting RN-BSN progression; participate in curriculum development and committees.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing
• Unrestricted RN license in Ohio
• Minimum two years RN experience
• Experience with in-person or online learning environments and instructional technologies
• Knowledge in community health, nursing leadership, evidence-based practice, adult health, or health promotion
• Basic knowledge of a learning management system

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in the School of Nursing in person and online
• Deliver courses in an in-person learning environment per outcomes and policies
• Provide clear, timely communication, instruction, feedback and student support
• Monitor participation and advise students at risk of underperformance
• Maintain records of grades, attendance and required documentation
• Develop, revise and maintain course content and learning activities
• Participate in curriculum development and program evaluation
• Support RN-BSN recruitment, retention and progression
• Engage in committees and service at program, school and university levels
• Maintain credentials and pursue professional growth in adult teaching/learning pedagogy
