Job summary

Jersey College invites applications for a Nursing Instructor to deliver high-quality classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction to LPN/PN and RN students. The role emphasizes student success, competency evaluation, and professional behavior development across campus settings.

The instructor collaborates with fellow faculty, clinical partners, and administration to maintain current nursing practice knowledge and effective teaching methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher nursing degree required.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state required.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent professional Registered Nurse experience.
• Clinical experience relevant to the nursing courses and clinical experiences being taught.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a nursing specialty that contributes to student learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical instruction to LPN/PN and RN nursing students, as assigned.
• Provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters students' academic growth and professional development.
• Deliver effective instruction appropriate to the educational level and needs of LPN/PN and RN students.
• Supervise students in the clinical environment and promote safe, professional nursing practice.
• Evaluate student performance and clinical competence based on program philosophy, objectives, policies, and established standards.
• Prepare accurate and timely student progress reports and grade reports.
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance records.
• Provide students with appropriate guidance, feedback, and support to promote successful learning outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge and expertise within the nursing specialty and clinical practice environment.
• Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and other required academic or campus meetings.
• Maintain professional qualifications through continuing education, in-service training, and academic coursework as appropriate.
• Collaborate effectively with faculty, administration, clinical partners, and other members of the academic community.
