Job summary

Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner to lead onboarding, competency management, and education across units. The role partners with unit leaders to promote excellence in patient care and staff development.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN with an Indiana RN license and BLS, and is prepared to travel to support educational needs across the IU Health system. Strong leadership and collaborative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN required and Indiana RN license or NLC.
• ,
• BLS certification required; additional life-support credentials may be required by unit.
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to apply adult learning principles to education and development initiatives.
• Willingness to travel across IU Health system as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and orientation programs for new staff and learners.
• Manage and assess competency development and maintenance for clinical staff.
• Design, implement, and evaluate education programs and role development initiatives.
• Build collaborative partnerships with unit leaders, educators, and stakeholders.
• Facilitate inquiry and evidence-based practice to promote improvement.
• Support system-wide and unit-specific educational strategies to meet patient care needs.
