Indiana University Health is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner to lead education and competency activities across IU Health facilities. The role emphasizes adult learning principles and collaboration with unit leaders to enhance patient care and staff development.
The position requires a BSN, Indiana RN license or NLC, BLS, and willingness to travel. Two years of nursing experience are preferred, with OR experience highly desirable.
On‑site at University Hospital with expectation to travel to Methodist Hospital.

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner utilizes professional judgment and expertise to enhance role competence and growth of learners across various settings, supporting the IU Health Way. Key responsibilities include onboarding and orientation, competency management, education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and inquiry. This role often functions at the unit or facility level, partnering with leaders and stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and initiatives.
The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner plays a vital role in fostering professional growth, ensuring competency, and supporting educational needs within the organization. They serve as a resource and leader in adult learning principles, working collaboratively to promote excellence in patient care and staff development across IU Health.
