Job summary

Great Plains Nursing is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical excellence and staff development in our Texas facility. You will guide nursing services, ensure regulatory compliance, and support direct care to residents with professionalism and compassion.

As the DON, you will hire and mentor staff, manage scheduling and payroll, collaborate with physicians, and develop individualized care plans that improve outcomes. This is a full-time on-site leadership role with strong resources.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Texas RN license in good standing.
• Proven leadership in long-term or geriatric care.
• Strong clinical skills with restorative approach.
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services per guidelines and compliance.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance of nursing staff.
• Assist on the floor to maintain high-quality care.
• Review payroll submissions for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain resident records and documentation.
• Develop individualized care plans with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ensure nursing staff have timely access to equipment and supplies.
• Coach and mentor nursing staff to improve outcomes.
