Legacy at Jacksonville in Texas is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and champion high-quality resident care. You will guide nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.

The DON will oversee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, payroll oversight, care planning, and resource management while mentoring the team and promoting professional development in a supportive facility

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the State of Texas.
• Proven leadership experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
• Strong clinical skills and a restorative care approach.
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all nursing services in compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines.
• Lead the team: recruit, onboard, schedule and manage nursing staff performance.
• Support direct care and step in on the floor when needed to maintain quality care.
• Review payroll submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain resident records with accuracy and proper documentation.
• Develop individualized care plans with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide resources to nursing staff for equipment and supplies.
• Coach and mentor nursing staff to improve performance and outcomes.
