Job summary

The role requires an NAI listing with NC DHHS and a current American Heart Association HeartSaver certification, with de-escalation training completed within 90 days of employment if not current at hire. This is a full-time, night-shift position with weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is preferred.
• NAI listing with NC Department of Health and Medical Services is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or other de-escalation program) must be completed within 90 days of employment if not current at hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Quality Improvement (QI) activities and data collection; follows infection control, fire and disaster regulations.
• Attends staff development programs and participates in orientation of new staff and students.
• Maintains active NAI licensure/certification and adheres to hospital policies.
• Builds effective interpersonal relations and communicates openly with team members and participates in constructive feedback.
• Participates in unit, department and hospital goal setting and supports cost-effective use of equipment and supplies.
• Under supervision, assists in direct patient care and completes delegated tasks as per NC DHHS.
• Monitors patients for signs of escalating behavior; alerts nurse and communicates handoffs to the care team.
