Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the per diem night shift (7 PM–7:30 AM). The role involves providing direct patient care, vital signs, meals, mobility assistance, and patient transport in our inpatient rehab setting.

Minimum requirements include BLS certification (or completion within 90 days) with a preference for CNA certification or hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
• Preferred hospital experience or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height and weight, and demographic data.
• Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care.
• Deliver meals, feed patients as needed, and document intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients; support mobility program.
• Respond to patient call lights and provide care to support well-being.
• Transport patients to treatment centers as required.

Schedule: Per Diem (PRN), 7PM-7:30AM (Nights) Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)
Compensation: $23.50/Hour +Shift Differential

• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing (bed bath, chair at sink, tub, and shower), oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves, and documenting oral intake, including supplements.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participating in the mobility program.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that add to the physical well-being of the patient.
• Transportation of the patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.
