Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Chester, NJ is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for Per Diem shifts to support inpatient rehab patients. The role includes vital signs, personal care, meals, mobility assistance, and safe transport of patients across treatment areas.

Candidates should have BLS or be eligible within 90 days; high school diploma or NA certification preferred. Per Diem shifts include weekday and weekend rotations with opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, grooming).
• Deliver meals and assist with feeding; document oral intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients and assist with mobility program.
• Respond to call lights and assist with patient needs to support wellbeing.
• Transport patients to designated areas for treatment.

Position: Nursing Assistant (NA) PRN / Per Diem

Location: 201 Pleasant Hill Rd, Chester NJ (MORRIS COUNTY)

Schedule: Per Diem (PRN) 7AM-7:30PM, Days OR 7PM-7:30AM, NIGHTS (Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)

Compensation: $23.50/Hour + Shift Differential

Responsibilities

• Obtaining vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing (bed bath, chair at sink, tub, and shower), oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves, and documenting oral intake, including supplements.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participating in the mobility program.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that add to the physical well-being of the patient.
• Transportation of the patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hospital experience, certification as a nursing assistant preferred

Per Diem Requirement: Four (4) shifts per 6-week schedule. One Saturday or Sunday, one Winter/Summer holiday
