Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital – Charleston is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) to join a compassionate care team at CAMC Memorial location. This PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour shift role offers day and night coverage with $18.00/hour and a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

You will perform basic patient care, rounds, transport, and maintain cleanliness, with orientation and opportunities for advancement; benefits include 401k eligibility after 1,000 hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification is required (or related field).
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care.
• Perform hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Transport patients and assist with movement using stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and equipment; stock supplies as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
