Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Laurel Highlands, located inside Latrobe Hospital, is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA/CNA) per diem in Latrobe, PA. The position offers $20.00 per hour and a $1,500 sign-on bonus, with an extensive orientation and potential path to full-time opportunities.

As a CNA, you will assist with basic patient care, participate in hourly rounds, support patient transfers, and help maintain clean and organized patient areas in a critical illness recovery setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent work experience.
• CNA certification and BLS are required within specified timelines.
• Hospital CNA experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care such as bathing, oral hygiene, feeding and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients and assist with transfers as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments, equipment, and patient rooms.
• Keep unit stock and supplies organized.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
