Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ is hiring a Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts (7PM-7:30AM). Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $25.59 per hour plus shift differential.

Responsibilities include vitals, daily care, meals, mobility, and patient transport in an inpatient rehab setting. Minimum requirements include BLS certification or completion within 90 days; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and CNA certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not mandatory).
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming and daily activities.
• Deliver meals, document oral intake and assist with feeding as needed.
• Turn and position immobile patients and participate in mobility program.
• Respond to patient call lights and contribute to patient well-being.
• Transport patients to treatment areas as required.

Schedule: Full-time, Nights 7PM-7:30AM (Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)

Compensation: $21.00-$25.59/Hour (Based on Experience) +Shift Differential

• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing (bed bath, chair at sink, tub, and shower), oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves, and documenting oral intake, including supplements.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participating in the mobility program.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that add to the physical well-being of the patient.
• Transportation of the patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.
