Job summary

Inova Specialty Hospital in Alexandria, VA is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant (NA) for Full-Time Night shifts to support post-ICU patients. You will join a compassionate care team, perform essential daily patient care tasks, and contribute to a high standard of hospital care.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED, BLS within 90 days, and prior hospital experience is preferred. You will participate in orientation, rounds, and maintain clean patient spaces and supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification or training required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair

• Participate in hourly rounds

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs

• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs

• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition

• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
