Job summary

ECU Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant II to provide direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse. The role supports quality care within NC NAII guidelines and may serve in observer roles on a designated unit. You will participate in education, policies, and teamwork while maintaining licensure and safety standards.

The position is 0.8 FTE, day shift, full-time with benefits. Requires active NC NA I/II listings and HeartSaver certification; de-escalation training within

Qualifications

• High School or GED is preferred - or higher.
• Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required.
• Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or other de-escalation program). If not current at the time of hire must complete within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality Improvement (QI) Activities and data collection.
• Attends staff development programs and participates in orientation of new staff.
• Maintains licensure and performs duties under supervision of licensed nurse.
• Assists in providing direct patient care and may perform additional duties as assigned (e.g., EKGs, phlebotomy, venipuncture, transport and discharge).
• Monitors patient and communicates with care team; documents in medical record.
