Job summary

ECU Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant II to perform delegated patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse at ECU Health Medical Center in North Carolina. The role supports patient care and may include observer duties for monitoring assigned patients according to the care plan.

Qualified candidates hold active NA I listing in NC DHHS and NA II with NC Board, HeartSaver or higher certification, and complete de-escalation training within 90 days if not currently certified.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is preferred - or higher
• Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required
• Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required
• De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or equivalent) required or must be completed within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assists in direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse
• Participates in unit, department and hospital quality improvement activities
• Follows hospital and unit policies and procedures and maintains licensure
• Builds interpersonal relations and communicates effectively with the care team
• Contributes to cost-effective use of equipment and supplies
• Documents activities and reports accurate information in the medical record and handoffs
