Job summary

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, active NAI and NAII listings, and current HeartSaver certification. De-escalation training is required within 90 days if not current at hire.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is preferred - or higher.
• Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required.
• Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or other de-escalation program adopted by ECU Health) must be completed within 90 days of employment if not current at hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality improvement activities, data collection and problem-solving to improve care.
• Maintain active licensure/certification (NAI/NAII) as required.
• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse and perform delegated skills as allowed by NC state regulations.
• Assist with admission, transport and discharge as needed.
• Monitor patients for escalating behaviors and communicate with the care team.
