Job summary

ECU Health Bertie Hospital seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant II to provide direct patient care under supervision and participate in multi-disciplinary care on a designated unit in Windsor, NC.

The role includes engaging in quality improvement, staff development, and adherence to policies while maintaining licensure and collaborating with the care team. This is a part-time position with day shifts requiring active NC NAI/NAII listings and current CPR/HeartSaver certification.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is preferred or higher.
• Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required.
• Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training must be completed within 90 days if not current at hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality improvement (QI) activities and data collection.
• Emphasizes safe practices, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Attends staff development programs and participates in orientation of new staff.
• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Maintains licensure and participates in unit and hospital goal setting.
• Communicates effectively with the care team and documents in the medical record.
• Assists in cost-effective use of equipment and supplies.
