Job summary

Qualifications

• Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required.
• Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training (or completed within 90 days) is required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality improvement activities and data collection.
• Attends staff development programs and orients new staff and students.
• Follows hospital unit policies and maintains licensure.
• Builds teamwork and effective communication; seeks help via chain of command.
• Contributes to unit goals and cost-effective use of equipment and supplies.
• Under licensed nurse supervision, assists in direct patient care and completes delegated tasks.
• May perform EKGs, phlebotomy, venipuncture, admissions, transport, and discharge when trained.
• Monitors patients for escalating behaviors and reports to nurse; documents in medical record.
