Job summary

ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant II to provide direct patient care under licensed nurses, perform delegated tasks and monitor patients as required by NC nursing regulations.

You will work full-time on 3-12 hour shifts, with night, weekend and holiday rotations, while maintaining active NAII/NAI licensure and completing de-escalation training as needed. Emphasis on teamwork and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• Active NAI listing required.
• Active NAII listing required.
• HeartSaver or higher certification required.
• De-escalation training required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality improvement activities and data collection.
• Attends staff development and orientation of new staff.
• Follows hospital policies and maintains licensure.
• Maintains professional interactions and teamwork on unit.
• Assists in cost-effective use of equipment and supplies.
• Under supervision, provides direct patient care and completes delegated tasks as required by NC guidelines.
• May perform EKGs, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and assist in admissions, transport, and discharge as trained.
• Monitors patients for escalating behaviors and communicates with care team, ensuring proper handoffs and documentation.
