Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a dedicated nurse for the Navicent Health Medical Center - Nursing: Medical/Surgical IU 3 West unit. This full-time role involves nights with three 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends, totaling 36 hours per week.

The position emphasizes high-quality patient care, accurate documentation, and teamwork within a busy hospital setting. Responsibilities include pre-/post-operative care, vital signs monitoring, patient transfers, and adherence to unit standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate with patients, staff, and coworkers.
• Preferred: BLS and CPI certifications; CNA experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients per unit standards.
• Assist with pre- and post-operative care and patient transfers.
• Monitor vital signs and document accurately.
• Perform glucose monitoring and basic clinical tasks as assigned.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all times.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environment and proper equipment handling.
