Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant I for St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This role supports basic patient care, hygiene, mobility, and nutrition under the supervision of the Patient Care Services Manager and licensed staff.

Shift options include day and evening, 7:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation. Eligible candidates may receive a $900 new hire sign-on bonus (rehire eligibility applies).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related nursing assistant training preferred.
• Nursing Assistant Certification in Massachusetts required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Three months experience in acute care or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic patient care, personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
• Maintain patient environment and assist licensed staff in care tasks.
• Perform under supervision of the Manager, Patient Care Services or designee.

We are searching for a talented Nursing Assistant I

*$900 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

Hours: 24hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift, 7:00am - 3:00pm/3:00pm - 11:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Under general supervision of individually assigned Manager, Patient Care Services or designee, perform a variety of duties including basic care, personal hygiene, mobility, nutritional support, maintain patient environment, and provide assistance to licensed staff in carrying out other related duties, etc.

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training.
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Training Program is preferred.
• Nursing Assistant Certification in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the equivalent is required.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Three (3) months experience in an acute care or long term setting is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
