Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital – Wheeling is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) to join our dedicated care team for the 6:00PM-6:30AM, PRN/Per Diem schedule with 4 twelve-hour shifts over six weeks. This role supports patient needs, including bathing, feeding, rounds, transport, and room maintenance in a high-acuity setting.

You will be part of a compassionate team, with opportunities for orientation, advancement, and a benefits program. A signing bonus is offered to new hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant work experience accepted (3+ years).
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification; related field experience acceptable.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less products and providing oral hygiene and feeding assistance.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with moving patients and equipment.
• Keep patient rooms and equipment clean and stocked; maintain unit stock levels.

Overview

Position: Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA)

Location: Select Specialty Hospital - Wheeling

Schedule: 6:00PM-6:30AM, PRN/Per Diem, 4 12-hour shifts in a 6 week period

Compensation: $20.00 per hour, plus shift differentials for weekends

Sign On Bonus: $1,250

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair

• Participate in hourly rounds

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs

• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs

• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition

• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
