Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Weirton is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) to join our clinical team in Weirton. This PRN/Per Diem role offers 4 twelve-hour shifts over a six-week cycle with a base compensation of $20.00 per hour, plus weekend differentials and a $1,250 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with moving them safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans and wheelchairs.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly; restock supplies as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin‑less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
