Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center, LLC in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified) to provide basic patient care, monitor vital signs, support mobility, and ensure patient safety for adults on heart monitors.

The role supports observation, reports changes promptly to the nursing staff, and helps maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment on 12-hour night shifts.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months’ previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care: assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and eating.
• Vital signs monitoring: measure and record BP, pulse, temp, respirations, oxygen saturation.
• Mobility assistance: help patients to bed, walk, or use assistive devices.
• EKG lead maintenance and alerting nurses if alarms occur.
• Observing patients for changes and promptly notifying the nursing staff.

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified) , also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele Nursing Assistant . The Med-Surg/Tele/PCU Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.

Responsibilities

• If you are a non-licensed Nursing Assistant (NA) or a Certified (CNA) and have no prior experience, we encourage you to apply. Entry-Level NAs or CNAs are welcome to apply!
• Basic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
• Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation
• Mobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.
• EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning - though Certified Nursing Assistant’s (CNA’s) don't usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nurses
• Observation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff
