Prime Healthcare is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. The nurse will care for patients recovering from surgery and managing acute/chronic illnesses, working 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a $2–$4 shift differential.

Responsibilities include assessments, monitoring, medication administration, and coordination with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. New grads welcome; BSN preferred and ACLS/BCLS requirements noted.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License is required.
• Current BLS certificate on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate on hire and maintained (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Perform thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Monitor vitals and clinical indicators.
• Recognize deterioration and take appropriate action.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Communicate with the healthcare team to adjust care plans.
• Educate patients on conditions and recovery to prevent readmission.
• Epic charting duties included.

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse at Riverview Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Gadsden, AL. The med surg RN plays an important role in our hospital by providing comprehensive care to patients who are recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Med-surg nurses are considered the backbone of hospital nursing due to the variety and volume of patients they manage.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health
• monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions
• recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status
• safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions
• act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met
• provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans
• Epic computer charting

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
