Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant to provide basic patient care, monitor vitals, support mobility, and ensure patient safety on heart monitors.

This full-time night shift role requires CNA and BLS at hire and offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to grow within Prime Healthcare.

Aufgaben

• Basic patient care including ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating).
• Vital signs monitoring: blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, SpO2.
• Mobility assistance: help patients get in/out of bed, walk, use assistive devices.
• EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors are connected and functioning; alarms escalated to RN.
• Observation: monitor for changes and notify nursing staff promptly.

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele PCU Nursing Assistant. The Med-Surg/Tele/PCU Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Basic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating


• Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation


• Mobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.


• EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified Nursing Assistant’s (CNA’s) don’t usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nurses


• Observation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire


• Current BLS upon hire and maintain current

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Possess knowledge of Medical Terminology

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office
