Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant for Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. You will provide basic patient care, monitor vital signs, support mobility, and ensure heart-monitor safety on 12-hour night shifts, per diem.

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care: assist with ADLs like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Vital signs monitoring: record BP, HR, RR, temperature, SpO2.
• Mobility assistance: help patients get in/out of bed and walk.
• EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors are connected and alarms monitored.
• Observation: watch for changes and promptly report to nursing staff.

Shift’s Available: Nights

Hours:12-hour shifts: 7p - 7a

Employment Type:Per Diem (PD / PRN)

Location:Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL

We are seeking aMedical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele Nursing Assistant. The Med-Surg/Tele Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care,monitoringvital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role inobservingpatients, reporting changes, andmaintaininga safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Basic patient care:help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating

• Vital signs monitoring:take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation

• Mobilityassistance:help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.

• EKG lead maintenance:ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified NursingAssistant’s(CNA’s)don'tusually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off andimmediatelyalert registered nurses

• Observation:monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff

Qualifications

• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology

• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current

Additional Qualifications That AreaPlus:

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate

• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office
