Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL seeks a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant (Nurse Aide) to provide basic patient care for adults on heart monitors. Duties include ADL support, vital signs, mobility assistance, and monitoring changes while ensuring patient safety.

Preferred CNA certification with BLS within 30 days and up-to-date medical terminology knowledge. Minimum six months in acute care or physician's office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiar with basic patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care: assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating.
• Vital signs monitoring: record BP, pulse, temp, RR, SpO2.
• Mobility assistance: help patients in/out of bed and with ambulation.
• EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors are connected and alarms are reported to RN.
• Observation: monitor for changes and promptly notify nursing staff.

We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele PCU Nursing Assistant. The Med-Surg/Tele/PCU Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
• Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation
• Mobility assistance : help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.
• EKG lead maintenance: e nsure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified Nursing Assistant’s (CN A ’s) don't usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nurses
• Observation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months’ previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
