Job summary

Oklahoma Surgical Hospital in Tulsa, OK, seeks an ECB Inpatient Nurse Tech to join a physician-owned facility focused on patient-centered care. The role supports RNs, delivers direct and indirect patient care, and maintains a safe environment. Schedule: 24 hours per month plus summer and winter holiday rotations, with 8-hour shifts Monday–Friday in the first weeks of employment.

Requirements include a high school diploma and BLS certification. Prior nurse aide or EMT training is preferred.

As an ECB Inpatient Nurse Tech, you will work 24 hrs. per month + 1 summer and 1 winter holiday (Sat & Sun Days or Nights). This position will work Monday - Friday the first week of employment, 8-hour day shifts.

The Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of a RN. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.

• What’s required of you? High school graduate or equivalent. Maintains current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department’s competency program. Basic Life Support certification prior to start date, or class to be taken at OSH within 60 days free of charge.
• Occupational Experience: Zero to six months prior to experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program preferred.
• Specialty Knowledge Skills: Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN. Cooperation and strong “team” focus required. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.
