Job summary

Oklahoma Surgical Hospital in Tulsa is seeking a Full Time Night Nurse Tech to join our team. You will work 3–12-hour shifts 7:00pm–7:00am and one 8-hour Saturday per month; Monday-Friday first week of employment.

You will assist RNs, provide direct and indirect patient care, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. Requirements include high school diploma, current BLS, and up to six months experience as Nurse Aide or EMT training; a team-focused attitude and strong communication are

• Nurse Technician role requires current competency as a Nurse Technician.
• Basic Life Support certification prior to start date or through OSH within 60 days.
• Zero to six months prior experience as a Nurse Aide or EMT training preferred.

As an Full Time Night Nurse Tech, you will work 3–12-hour shifts 7:00pm - 7:00am + 1 8 hour Saturday per month. This position will work Monday - Friday the first week of employment, 8-hour day shifts.

The Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of a RN. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.

• What’s required of you? High school graduate or equivalent. Maintains current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department’s competency program. Basic Life Support certification prior to start date, or class to be taken at OSH within 60 days free of charge.
• Occupational Experience: Zero to six months prior to experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program preferred.
• Specialty Knowledge Skills: Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN. Cooperation and strong “team” focus required. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.
