Job summary

Oklahoma Surgical Hospital is seeking a Full Time Inpatient Nurse Technician to work 7a-7p, including one Saturday a month. The role supports RNs and care teams to deliver excellent patient care in Tulsa.

You will help with activities of daily living, personal care, and maintaining a safe environment across units as assigned. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, Basic Life Support certification, and up to six months experience as a Nurse Aide or EMT.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to start date or within 60 days of hire.
• 0–6 months experience as Nurse Aide or in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses with direct and indirect patient care.
• Support nursing and medical staff to provide optimum patient outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment and assist with activities, personal care, and routine procedures as directed by an RN.

As an Full Time Inpatient Nurse Tech, you will work 7a-7p, including one Saturday a month. This position will work Monday - Friday the first week of employment, 8-hour day shifts.

The Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of a RN. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.

• What’s required of you? High school graduate or equivalent. Maintains current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department’s competency program. Basic Life Support certification prior to start date, or class to be taken at OSH within 60 days free of charge.
• Occupational Experience: Zero to six months prior to experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program preferred.
• Specialty Knowledge Skills: Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN. Cooperation and strong “team” focus required. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.
