Job summary

The Alden Network in Illinois is seeking an experienced RN or LPN nurse supervisor to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards while maintaining high-quality care for residents.

You will lead, train, and supervise staff, coordinate care plans, document thoroughly, and participate in care conferences. Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current nursing license (RN or LPN) in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess current CPR certification or obtain within two weeks of hire.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and regulations.
• Demonstrates interest/knowledge in care of the aged and willingness to supervise staff.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly for effective communication.
• Ability to make independent decisions when required.
• Ability to interact tactfully with customers, families, staff and agencies.
• Proven leadership and supervisory abilities; able to work harmoniously with others.
• Personable, enthusiastic, resourceful, and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Accept and support directives from appropriate authority; manage multiple tasks.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing activities for a unit.
• Directly supervise nursing staff and promote job knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with department policies and dress code.
• Develop and follow a written plan of care for each customer.
• Attend customer care plan conferences and document progress.
• Communicate concerns to the Administrator promptly.
• Counsel nursing personnel as needed and perform daily rounds.
• Maintain warm, compassionate environment and oversee charting and documentation.
• Organize admission, discharge, and transfer processes; order medications per budget.
• Coordinate physician orders, dietary changes, and lab tests as required.
