Job summary

Alden in Chicago seeks a licensed RN or LPN to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants within a high-quality elder care setting. You will ensure care aligns with all federal, state, and local standards and facility policies while promoting comfort and dignity for residents.

Responsibilities include planning care plans, directing staff, administering medications, documenting care, attending care conferences, and participating in ongoing education to maintain clinical

Qualifications

• Current RN or LPN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• CPR certification required or obtained within two weeks.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and patient care.
• Interest and/or knowledge in elder care.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to interact tactfully with patients, families, staff and public.
• Leadership and supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise daily nursing activities by nursing assistants.
• Ensure care aligns with federal, state, local standards and facility policies.
• Plan and implement written care plans for each resident.
• Direct and educate staff to maintain established policies and dress code.
• Document care via nurses' notes and progress records; report concerns to administration.
• Administer medications and treatments ordered by physicians; monitor responses.
• Attend care plan conferences and participate in continuous education to maintain clinical excellence.
