Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical services for inmates at the KY State Penitent facility under the Site Medical Director's supervision. You will conduct exams, manage chronic care, and perform rounds in a corrections setting.

This role requires NP licensure in the state, CPR certification, and prior corrections or acute care experience. You will maintain SOAP notes, coordinate coverage, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment.
• Advanced degree in an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience; corrections experience preferred.
• Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours and shifts and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care to inmates, including exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds.
• Maintains accurate and legible progress notes in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines.
• Responds to emergencies and makes decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals.
• Supports policies for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals.
• Maintains confidentiality and provides input into facility committees as requested.
