Job summary

Wellpath seeks a Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive medical services to incarcerated patients under the Site Medical Director's supervision. You will document care, manage exams and chronic conditions, and coordinate with hospital and on-site staff to ensure timely coverage.

Ideal candidates hold NP licensure in the employment state, completed NP education, and have experience in corrections, emergency care, or medical-surgical settings.

Qualifications

• Accredited nursing degree required.
• Advanced NP degree from an approved program.
• Current NP licensure in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to inmates, including exams, chronic care, and infirmary rounds.
• Document progress notes in SOAP format and adhere to formulary guidelines.
• Respond to emergencies and decide on non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals.
• Support policies for admission, transfer, and specialty referrals.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to facility committees.
