Job summary

Wellpath seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical services to incarcerated patients under the Site Medical Director and Physician oversight. You will document care, perform exams and chronic care, and coordinate coverage when needed, in a corrections setting.

Responsibilities include emergency response, formulary adherence, and collaboration with facility medical teams to ensure timely, compassionate care for inmates. Current KY licensure required.

Qualifications

• Must have current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of employment.
• CPR certification must be current.
• Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience with corrections is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to inmates with exams, chronic care, and infirmary rounds.
• Maintain progress notes in SOAP format and follow formulary guidelines.
• Respond to emergencies and arrange non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals.
• Support admission, transfer, and specialty referrals per policy; maintain confidentiality.
