Job summary

Ascension in Nashville, TN, seeks an experienced nurse leader for the OB Emergency Department/OB High Risk Delivery. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure regulatory compliance, develop policies to improve patient care, and monitor budgets and staffing to maintain service levels.

This role emphasizes staff development, recruitment, and physician collaboration in a high-acuity setting, with a full-time day schedule and a focus on quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• RN license from Tennessee Board of Nursing is required.
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire (adult critical care setting).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within the unit(s). Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s).
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services in the unit(s). Develop and maintain quality monitoring systems for the assigned unit(s).
• Monitor and adhere to budget. Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
• Ensure a high level of associate, patient and physician satisfaction.
• Conduct hiring, training, directing, counseling, development and evaluating of staff.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within the unit(s). Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s).

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted. Required if working in adult critical care setting.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
