Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Main Operating Room to provide 24-hour leadership in a Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center with 27 operating rooms, serving patients of all ages including pediatrics.

The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality patient care while driving operational excellence and staff engagement. Required: RN license and BSN; progressive perioperative leadership experience; Master's degree and CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• Progressive perioperative leadership experience required.
• RN license is required.
• BSN required; Master's degree and CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Main Operating Room (27 ORs) in a high-volume surgical services department.
• Develop staffing plans, schedules, and resource allocation to support patient care needs.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, patient satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflow and care delivery.
• Monitor quality metrics and implement evidence-based practices to achieve outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a highly engaged perioperative team.
• Support professional development, competency management, and performance excellence.
• Align department goals with Nursing Strategic Plans.
