Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Main Operating Room to provide 24-hour leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and operational excellence in a busy surgical services environment.

You will lead staffing, engagement, and performance initiatives in a Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center with 27 Operating Rooms, spanning pediatric to adult patients, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize workflows and outcomes.

Qualifications

Current RN license is required.
BSN degree required.
Progressive perioperative leadership experience is required.

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of a complex, high-volume surgical services department.
Develop staffing plans, schedules, and resource allocation to support patient care needs.
Foster a culture of safety, quality, patient satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Partner with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflow, remove barriers, and enhance care delivery.
Monitor quality metrics and implement evidence-based practices to achieve exceptional outcomes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a highly engaged perioperative team.
Support professional development, competency management, and performance excellence.
Align departmental goals and initiatives with organizational and Nursing Strategic Plans.
