Job summary

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Bridgeton, MO is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead nursing staff in our inpatient rehabilitation unit. The role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and oversees care plans, staff development, and crisis leadership to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will hold an RN license in Missouri, BSN or be enrolled in a BSN program, and possess BLS and ACLS certification. Supervisory experience is required; CRRN preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid State RN License required.
• Three to five years experience including supervisory experience.
• BSN or enrollment in BSN program required.
• Certified BLS before hire date required.
• Certified ACLS or completion in first 6 months of employment required.
• CRRN preferred after meeting eligibility requirements.
• Clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct assigned nursing personnel and serve as resource for patient care planning.
• Provide leadership during crises to assure continuity of care and a productive work environment.
• Maintain approved standards of patient care and collaborate with the CNO for continuity of care.
• Promote clinical development, competency and staff expertise to maximize patient outcomes.
• Evaluate performance of nursing personnel and participate in interviewing prospective staff.
• Ensure documentation of care, patient family teaching and discharge planning by staff.
• Contribute to smooth unit functioning by directing staff, other departments and families.

As the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and working alongside nurses, you will direct assigned nursing personnel, serving as a resource person and consultant to ensure the plan of care for the patient population.

• Possesses a specialized knowledge base and skills to facilitate patient treatment and staff development.


• Provides and oversees patient care. Implementing hospital and department philosophy and objectives.


• Provides leadership during times of crisis to assure continuity of care and a productive work environment.


• Maintains approved standards of patient care, collaborating with appropriate persons for continuity of care under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer. Communicates clinical issues, as they relate to service or program development, to the CNO.


• Promotes clinical development, competency and expertise in staff to maximize patient outcomes.


• Evaluates performance of professional and non-licensed nursing personnel. Cooperated in interviewing prospective staff.


• Assures that all staff are accountable for documenting care provided, patient family teaching and discharge planning on patients to which they are assigned.


• Contributes to the smooth functioning of the unit by providing direction to staff, other departments, and families as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
