Job summary

Cook Children's in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Nurse Informaticist to apply nursing knowledge and informatics to design, implement, and modify an enterprise-wide EHR, improving patient care. You will bridge clinicians and Information Services to support clinical initiatives.

The role requires RN with BSN, Epic experience, and collaboration across teams to optimize clinician workflow and regulatory compliance, under CMIO guidance.

Qualifications

• Requires BSN in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Master’s degree in business or healthcare is preferred.
• At least three years of direct nursing care experience.
• At least one year of Epic or equivalent EHR documentation experience.
• If not certified, must obtain Epic Clinical Informaticist Certification within 9 months, with two retakes allowed.
• Recommend achieving Epic proficiency/certification within two years.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing and informatics knowledge to design, implement, and refine the enterprise-wide EHR.
• Serve as liaison between clinicians, care teams, and Information Services to support clinical initiatives.
• Support regulatory mandates and quality/safety improvements through informatics processes.
• Guide multidisciplinary projects under CMIO leadership to optimize clinician workflow.
