Job summary

Cook Children’s Health Care System is seeking a Nurse Informaticist to support the design, implementation, and ongoing modification of an enterprise-wide integrated electronic health record (EHR). The role interfaces with clinicians, providers, and Information Services to optimize clinician workflow and patient care processes.

The position expects experience with nursing practice, informatics, and Epic or equivalent systems, with potential certification guidance and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s of Science (BSN) in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Prefer a Master’s degree in business or healthcare fields from an accredited school.
• Must have at least three (3) years of nursing patient direct care experience.
• Must have one (1) year of experience in Epic or equivalent system documenting and reviewing patient charts.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of nursing and informatics to support the design, implementation, and ongoing modification of an enterprise-wide integrated electronic health record (EHR).
• Serve as the primary interface between clinicians, providers, patient care services and Information Services (IS).
• Provide strategic guidance regarding the maturation of the integrated EHR to increase efficiency in the delivery of care while optimizing clinician workflow.
